JOINT COMBINED EXCHANGE TRAINING (JCET) LANTERN STYLE 01/2022 (35) COMMENCED IN TRINCOMALEE
The Inauguration Ceremony of the Joint Combined Exchange Training (JCET) Lantern Style 2022/01 was held at the auditorium of Special Boat Squadron Training School (SBSTS), Naval Dockyard, Trincomalee on 29th August 2022 and Captain Manoj Leelarathne, the Commanding Officer 4th Fast Attack Flotilla (4FAF) graced the event as the Chief Guest along with Commanding Officer (SBS) and Commanding Officer 1st Marine Battalion. Further, the officers and sailorsfrom4FAF, SBS and Sri Lanka Navy Marine (SLN Marine) and also members of the Marine Special Operation Team (MSOT) 8331 of US Navy also witnessed the ceremony.
36 personnel from Sri Lanka Navy consisting SBS (16), 4FAF (10) and SLN Marine (10) and also 12 members of MSOT 8331 of US Navy joined for Lantern Style training program from 29th August to 26th September 2022. The programme held as part of mutual understanding and partnership agreement to enhance military capacities and build up the combat professionalism of both countries.
The four-weeks of long exercise training mainly focuses on Mission Planning (MP), Visit Board search Seizure (VBSS) Operation, Maritime operation (MAROPS), Combat Marksmanship & Sniper Training (CMST) etc. The training programme is comprised with the theoretical and practical classes and MSOT planned to conduct Final Training Exercise (FTX) to examine the professional skills and combat applications of SLN personnel and to exchange of the expertise knowledge between personnel of US Navy.
