Rear Admiral HLADF Senaviratne, USP, psc, MDS

Rear Admiral HLADF Senavirathne has joined the Sri Lanka Navy on 16th March 1987 as an Officer and he followed his basic training at the Naval and Maritime Academy, Trincomalee. He followed his Sub Lieutenant’s Technical (NPM) Course at the Naval and Maritime Academy, Junior Command & Staff Course in Bangladesh, Unit Command & Staff Course at Bangladesh. Defence Management Course at India, He has followed overseas Study Tour (ACSC) Course at Indonesia and he has followed Staff Course at Defence Services Command and Staff College and Proving his capability he successfully completed the Advanced Training Program for Talents from Maritime Silk Road Countries at China in 2018

During his tenure, he has shouldered many important and key appointments including Commandant Naval Infantry, Director Naval Land Operations at Naval Head Quarters, and Naval Officer in Charge at Trincomalee, Provost Marshal at Naval Head Quarters, Contingent Commander at SLNS Vijayaba, Deputy Training Commander at SLNS Shiksha, Commanding Officer SLNS Vijayaba and SLNS Pandukabaya. He contributed immensely, with the humanitarian operations to eliminate the LTTE and to liberate the East and North, which led to final war victory in Sri Lanka.

Commodore HLADF Senavirathne has been awarded Uttama Seva Padakkama medal, Sri Lanka Navy 50th Anniversary Medal-2000, Sri Lanka Armed Services Long Service Medal-1979, 50th Independence Anniversary Commemoration Medal, East Humantarian Operation Medal, North Humantarian Operation Medal, North and East Operation Medal, Purna Bhumi Padakkama Medal, Riviresa Campaign Service Medal for meritorious and distinguished service.

He is married to Mrs. Jeevani Arambepola and blessed with two sons.
